Corcolon Lomi House (Best Lomi Ever!)

As we all know, Batangas is known for its Lomi, noodles with sticky soup. It is evident in the number of lomi house on the streets of Batangas.
My husband is an Air Force officer and we frequently visit Fernando Air Base in Lipa City. This is also the time when we get the chance to visit nearby Lomi House and taste their "specialty".
For us, almost all the Lomi in the different establishments that we visited tasted very much alike.

                               A typical Batangas Lomi

They just differ in the toppings. But in general, all tasted just the typical Lomi that we imagined. One noticeable thing though is that all the Lomi that we tasted becomes watery halfway. Meaning the initial consistency of being sticky fades before consuming the meal.
We get the chance to visit Lipa City again the other day to attend an occassion at the base. After the activity and before proceeding back to Pampanga, i remembered a lomi house described by my friend as having a lomi that is "super sarap". My husband and I got curious so we decided to give it a try.

Located in the nearby town of San Jose, it will take you around 10 to 15 minutes to reach the place if you're coming from Mataas na Kahoy. It is a about a kilometer away from Valentino Resort. It is a typical carenderia type of resto but you'll be surprised to see a long line of parked vehicles infront.
We arrived there 15 min past 7 and those ahead of us we're already told to be back the next day because their closing time is 7:30 pm. We are really surprised to find out that a lot of customers came from nearby towns and visited Corcolon frequently because of its superb taste.  Me and my husband being "makulit" informed them that we're already going back to Pampanga the next day and we don't know when we'll be back in Lipa. Realizing we are desperate they gave us the chance to taste their specialty and cooked the last batch for the day, exclusively for us.

The topping is quite generous which consists of grilled pork and pork chicharon. It tasted like pork sisig. The toppings alone is "super sarap!". The Lomi itself tasted differently from the typical Batangas Lomi. The consistency stays upto the last drop. The taste just stands out from the other Lomi that we have tasted.
While eating, we had a chance to chat with the owner, Tita Maritess, the owner and the one personally cooking the meal.

We found out that she hails from Bulacan and have incorporated some of the secrets she have learned In her hometown that's why her Lomi stands out from the other Lomi that we had tasted. We also learned where the name Corcolon came from. Its for you to find out when you visit the place and have a small chat with Tita Maritess.
Me and my husband will definitely be back if given the chance to return to Lipa again. We'll try the bigger servings that they offer to satisfy our cravings. 😄
